Berndorf Bäderbau is a Berndorf AG company and part of the Group´s technology division. The "Royal Imperial Private Metal Goods Factory" was founded in 1843 by industrialists Hermann Krupp and Alexander Schoeller.
The company gained a reputation as the world´s first mass producer of cutlery, which allowed it to survive two world wars and several corporate restructurings.
It was demerged from the "United Metalworks Ranshofen - Berndorf AG" in 1987/88 and subsequently returned to the private sector following a management buyout.
The new company became Berndorf AG under the management of Norbert Zimmermann.
Today, Berndorf AG and its subsidiaries are autonomous companies active both in Austria and internationally in the capital goods industry. The Group´s operations, which enjoy a leading position in their markets, are concentrated in the stainless steel processing industry.
Berndorf Bäderbau has been a leading manufacturer of swimming pools since 1960. During the company´s first ten years, all swimming pools were made of aluminium. At the beginning of the 1970s, product advances made it possible to produce swimming pools from stainless steel.
We have now built over 5,000 swimming pools throughout Europe in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. Thanks to its outstanding technical and optical characteristics, stainless steel is the ideal material for constructing commercial and municipal swimming pools. More and more private customers and hotel owners have become aware of the benefits of stainless steel pools in recent years.
Reaching our leadership position in the market has only been possible with proven technical solutions, modern production methods and a highly motivated and customer-oriented workforce. The Berndorf Bäderbau Group headquarters, its management team and production facilities are located in the town of Berndorf in Lower Austria.
The Berndorf Bäderbau Group generates sales of around 40 million euros annually.
